Why I Quit Fashion Blogging

Hello  everyone! If you have been a follower of my blog for a while, you may have noticed that I stopped blogging at the beginning of this year.
Why you ask?
Here is the bottom line: it's not worth it!
Let me explain.

When I was starting out, I desperately wanted to be the lucky one of the few who 'made it' in the blogging world. I wanted to have the million dollar house, the fancy shoes and expensive handbags. Yes, I did try to make this a business and to tell you the truth it was going pretty well. My last month of blogging I made some money and got some cool sponsorships. And then? Then I quit.

I quit because it was consuming my life.
Blogging is not just a job you do and then close your computer and go to bed. It's a 24/7 type of thing where you have to be present on all social media. If there's social media outlet your name better be there. If there is an event for all the bloggers, you better be there. If there is a new trend, you better be wearing it the minute it comes out and not buy it on sale two seasons later. If there is a hashtag, you better know about it and use it on all social media. It is simply exhausting to keep up the appearances and chase after something that's ever-changing and so insignificant.

Let's face it, clothes matter so very little in a person's life.

No one will remember what I wore this day, or that (except maybe my wedding) but people do remember what you did for them and how much time you invested in them.

Being a Christian and a fashion blogger is simply impossible. I tried to reason in my mind that I will inspire Christian girls to dress modestly and to look classy. And although that may be true, if the heart of a person is not right, no amount of modest dressing will save them. Their life is much more precious in Jesus's eyes to care about how modest or immodest they look. Saving a life is what matters.

Can you imagine if Jesus came to this Earth to change how we look and what we do? How much would that help us? We would be very proper and well dressed people still going to hell.
I'm not saying that those things are not important but what's more important is relationship with Jesus.

Relationship with Jesus is everything.

Blogging was consuming my life and slowly pushing Jesus out. I couldn't talk about what touched my heart on Sunday or witness to someone, while trying to sell you everything possible. Look here is a cute dress, and those nice sandals I have, don't you want  to have what I have? Go buy it now. Never mind that you are in debt or have to pay bills, or maybe can't even afford food. I will make my life look so attractive and so pretty that you can't resist to buy what I have, which will benefit me. And you? I don't care about that.
That's the attitude of fashion bloggers world.

My primary goal in life is to have a relationship with the Lord that reaches others for Christ and fashion world does not allow that. On the contrary, it does everything to distract and destroy that.
I was living, eating and breathing blogging which wasn't doing anything for people in the light of eternity. It wasn't inspiring anyone to have a passion for Christ and was making the trivial things of life (like clothes) the most important.
Don't get me wrong, I still like to dress pretty and modest but it is not my goal in life.
I love my Jesus and want to live my life so it shows just how much He means to me.
Hope you can join me in living the life of stepping out on faith and having a burning passion for Him, because Jesus really is worth it all.

P.S. Also those faces above! They are worth all my time, effort and money spent. They grow up so fast and I don't want to miss them growing up because I was chasing after the wrong thing.

Winter Wedding {Weddington Way}

dress: Weddington Way (also love this one)
clutch: Nordstrom
hair clip: Overstock
wrap: Etsy
bracelet: Nordstrom Rack
pumps: French Connection

Hair, Make Up and Flowers

When Weddington Way asked me to style a winter wedding look, I jumped right on board. I love weddings! I love attending them, decorating them and being in them - it always makes me feel nostalgic and romantic.

Winter weddings are all about drama! If in summer brides tend to gravitate towards bright colors and all shades of pastels, winter is the time to put some dark colors into play. I love the deep purple and grey combination because it has so much character to it. I added gorgeous faux fur wrap (obviously it's a little chilly) and a pretty hair clip to the silver dress Adding a smokey eye make up and dramatic curly locks, finishes the look perfectly.

How what do you think? Weddings are fun or a huge waste of time and money?

Last Minute Gifts That No One Will Know Were Last Minute

Last minute gifts are the most stressful part of Christmas but you can certainly pull it off. Here are a few ideas to those who have been waiting until the last day. Hope you find something special and don't stress too much about it. Pretty wrapping always helps the situation.

SPA CERTIFICATE: Everyone loves a little pampering and no matter if they're getting a full head to toe massage or just a mani/pedi, it will be appreciated. It's something just for that person to enjoy after stressful holiday season.

AMAZON PRIME SUBSCRIPTION: This is probably the best gift you will every give. Amazon Prime offers thousands of items with free two-day delivery to your door. We have it and I absolutely love it! Plus you get movies, music and games. I mean how can you beat that?

MOVIE TICKETS: Going out to see movies at the theater is getting pretty expensive and those of us with mortgages and school loans can't really afford going out to see the latest flick. Sometimes it's nice to get out on a date or even go to a day time show by yourself. This will be one cool gift.

RESTAURANT CERTIFICATE: I consider these the best gifts of all. They save time when I have no time to cook, or when we want to go out for a special occasion. It's nice to know that we can just go out to dinner without braking the bank and have good time. Treat them to a nice meal and they will remember it for a long time.

BEAUTY BOX SUBSCRIPTION: This is a great service that will send something new every month based on the characteristics you give them. The 3 month subscription to BirchBox is only $30. Couple of clicks and your friends will have a surprise in mail for three months. You can go all out and buy it for the whole year.

Christmas Gift Guide {FOR HIM}

Power Tools/Hand Tools: 1, 2, 3
Men like working with their hands, and it doesn't matter if he's handy or not, a power tool will make him feel manly. Maybe he will even finish that project you were asking him about.

Shaving Accessories: 4, 5, 6
There is nothing worse than getting an awful shave and bleeding afterwards. My husband has a very sensitive skin so getting the shave right is very important part of his routine. Right kind of tools make that task a lot easier.

A watch: 7, 8, 9
Men don't wear accessories and the only one they do should stand out in the crowd. Surprise him with a great looking watch he would never buy for himself.

Electronics: 10, 11, 12
What guy doesn't like to play with these fun (grown-up) toys?

This time of year is especially difficult for us ladies, who are trying to get a gift for the men in their lives. I think, girls are easier to get gifts for - a handbag, spa certificates, perfume, shoes, sunglasses and jewelry are all acceptable choices. We like to feel special and although sometimes we are picky, there are tons of options.
Men on the other hand, have very limited selection of gifts. So here is a gift guide, brought to you by the 'down-to-earth' dude. I asked my husband to name a few things he would love to get for Christmas and this is what I got. And he also said absolutely no shirt and tie under the Christmas tree. Got it sir.
I hope you are having a great time this holiday season and enjoying time with family.
Thank you for stopping by!

When Life Gives You Lemons

When Life Gives You Lemons
Pink Lemon Dress,   Iphone Case,   Sweater,   Keds, Oven Mitt,   Slice Lemon Purse,  Paper Napkins,    Straw Bag,    Art Frame,    Bathing Suit,   Placemat,    Necklace,    Strapless Dress
Honestly, I'm not the one to jump on the trend bandwagon as soon as it arrives. I usually take a while to warm up to certain ideas and maybe the last blogger on the planet earth that doesn't owe anything camo. Yep, still not very fond of that trend. But when I saw lemons on everything from paper napkins to handbags, it was love at first sight. It's such a fun and summery trend, which made me feel refreshed even without lemonade in my hand. So if life gives you lemons, make a trend out of it. I wonder who's life was going sour that they decided to put it on their designs. In any case, it's such a fun and quirky print that, even though I probably will not be getting a lemon bag, I will at least grab some table napkins.
What do you think of this summer print? Yay or nay?

Hope you like my selection of the very cute and summery pieces and enjoy a little shopping on my account. Let me know what would you buy in the comments, I'm so excited about their new summery clothes.
